To absorb that doubling it is being rebuilt entirely under the Leman 2030 programme: five longer and wider platforms, three new underpasses, and a new concourse beneath the station square with waiting areas and shops.
Work on the square's substructure began in 2024, with demolition of the car park following in spring 2026. A volume is reserved under the square for the future m3 metro station.
