What Yverdon is known for

Thermal baths at the foot of the Jura, and a museum unlike any other

Yverdon carries the baths in its name. At the end of Lake Neuchâtel, at the foot of the Jura, its thermal centre draws on sulphurous water known since Roman times; the town took back the name Yverdon-les-Bains when the spa was renovated.

On Place Pestalozzi, facing the castle, the Maison d'Ailleurs is one of very few museums in the world devoted entirely to science fiction, utopia and extraordinary voyages. The canton's second city, Yverdon also lives off its science park and its engineering school.
